From Plastic Waste to Next-Generation Building Materials

On March 30, International Zero Waste Day,
TYC Environmental Technology launched its Zero Waste Campaign, presenting the full lifecycle of materials—from waste to regeneration, and ultimately to building applications.

This represents not only a material transformation, but also a structural shift in how resources are defined and utilized in the built environment.


It begins with plastic waste.

Materials such as polystyrene (PS) have long been regarded as low-value and difficult to recycle. However, these materials inherently retain stable physical properties. Their loss of value is largely due to the absence of effective conversion and application systems.

TYC redefines waste as a resource and integrates it into a structured and reusable material system.


As the process advances, R&D and manufacturing capabilities become critical.

Through material science and process integration, plastic waste is transformed into post-consumer recycled plastics (PCR materials), with traceable sourcing (GRS-certified) and consistent quality, enabling scalable applications.

The core advancement lies in elevating recycling into performance-driven material reengineering.


The material is then reformed into panels, resulting in TEXWOOD®.

Ministry of Environment continues to promote circular construction materials, construction waste reuse, and low-carbon building policies.
Developers and brands are increasingly requiring materials with carbon data, recycled content, and traceable supply chains.


In parallel, regulatory frameworks are strengthening the foundation for circular construction materials.

According to policy updates from the Ministry of Environment, the government is advancing the Resource Circulation Promotion Act, with key measures including:

  • Source-level classification for construction waste

  • Mandatory recycled material usage ratios

  • Expanded adoption of circular materials in public works

The policy objective is to ensure circular materials meet requirements for supply stability, quality standards, and real-world applicability.

This signals a shift from voluntary adoption to regulated implementation, accelerating demand for compliant circular materials.
